"The master class on improvisation skills in classical music settings was excellent. Classical Jam’s pedagogical approach addressed the necessary fundamentals of how to approach improvisation. I was impressed that you found a way to challenge our advanced improvisers while meeting the needs of students who have had little experience with improvisation before.
Student feedback from the master class has been overwhelmingly enthusiastic and positive. The quality of expression our students were able to achieve in a short amount of time by balancing their personal musical ideas with the guidance of the Classical Jam members was due to very expert music teaching. In my opinion, it was the best kind of music learning experience: students were making music, learning, and enjoying themselves the entire time."
-Richard D. Edwards, Performing Arts Series Ohio Wesleyan University, OH
"Your unique approach, including the improvisatory aspect, and instrumentation really engaged the students and opened their eyes to the possibilities chamber ensemble playing can offer. All of the group members were very articulate and exhibited an unmistakable excitement and love for the music you played."
-Doug Miner, Instructor of Music, Mills High School, Millbrae, CA
"Classical Jam worked with our intermediate level string orchestra and concert band simultaneously, getting sections to improvise to a groove. The fear that kids who are trained classically so often have in a situation like this seemed to evaporate, and the music was tremendous. Students loved it, and want them to come back."
